Cloaking
Showing one page to the platform's reviewers and bots and another to real visitors, so an ad for a grey offer passes review. Done by a tracker or a dedicated cloaking service that filters by IP, device, referrer and behaviour. Against every platform's rules.
Also called: cloak, cloaker.
The reviewer sees a white page (the safe page); the user from the targeted GEO on a real phone sees the money page. The filter decides by IP ranges of the platforms, data-center addresses, VPNs, user agents, click patterns and referrers. A good filter passes the ad; a bad one shows the money page to a reviewer and gets the account banned.
Cloaking is the enabling technology of grey affiliate marketing on Meta and Google and the reason accounts are farmed and banned in bulk. The person on a team who runs it is the cloaker. Platforms improve their detection every year; cloaking services sell the arms race.
