Vertical
A category of offers with its own products, audience, traffic sources and rules: nutra, iGaming, betting, dating, finance, e-commerce, sweepstakes, crypto, adult. Buyers, networks and conferences organize themselves by vertical.
Also called: niche.
A vertical is a whole ecosystem: the advertisers, the networks that specialize in them, the sources that allow the ads, the creatives that work, the fraud that is common. A nutra buyer and an iGaming buyer share tools and little else.
Networks list their verticals up front; this site's catalogs filter by them. Choosing a vertical is choosing what to learn for the next year.
