Glossary
Sub ID
Parameters in a tracking link that carry what you want to know about each click: source, campaign, creative, placement, click ID. Networks pass them back in postbacks and show them in reports, so conversions can be broken down by anything.
Also called: sub, sub1, click ID, tracking parameters.
A network link accepts several sub parameters (sub1, sub2, aff_sub, s1). Fill them from the tracker's macros: {placement}, {creative_id}, {os}. The network's report and the postback carry them back, and now you know that placement 4471 converts and placement 9082 does not.
Sub IDs are also your evidence in a dispute over leads: the specific click, the time, the source.
Related terms: Tracker, Postback, UTM parameters, Blacklist.
