Glossary
Direct advertiser
The company whose product the offer sells, working with affiliates without a network in between. Direct deals pay more but demand volume, quality and paperwork.
Also called: advertiser, brand, merchant.
A direct advertiser owns the product: the casino, the supplement brand, the app. Some run their own affiliate program with a tracking platform and managers; others only work through networks.
Going direct removes the network's margin and the network's protection. You get a higher payout and talk to the people who decide, but you also carry the risk of late payment and disputes over lead quality yourself.
Related terms: Affiliate network, Offer, Payout.
