CPS
Payment per completed sale, usually as a percentage of the order value: 10% of every purchase, 40% of a subscription. As a metric, CPS = spend / sales. The model of e-commerce and software offers.
Also called: cost per sale, PPS, pay per sale.
CPS puts the affiliate on the advertiser's side of the sale: the bigger the basket, the bigger the payout. It also means waiting for the sale to complete and surviving returns and cancellations, which advertisers deduct.
PPS (pay per sale) is the same model named from the affiliate's side. CPO, cost per order, is the variant that pays a fixed rate per confirmed order without waiting for delivery and payment.
