Octo Browser and GoLogin are the clearest case of paying for the engine of an antidetect browser. Octo keeps its Chromium kernel about 2 days behind Chrome and documents every update with a date; on October 22, 2026 it shipped Octium 156 2 days after Chrome. GoLogin costs about 50% less, has a free plan and phone apps that sync with your desktop profiles, but its Orbita engine ran about 5 weeks behind Chrome in 2026 and GoLogin doesn't publish the version.
This comparison is built on what both companies publish, all checked on October 22, 2026: pricing pages, refund policies, docs, Octo's Octium changelog and the browser build GoLogin's software downloads. For the full picture, read our Octo Browser review and GoLogin review.

Kernel: 2 days against 5 weeks
This is the whole case for Octo. Its Octium changelog on the docs site lists every Chromium update with a date, and in 2026 they came 2 to 6 days after Chrome. GoLogin's release notes list app versions only, so we checked the build its software downloads: on October 22 the latest desktop build was Orbita 153, 3 versions behind Chrome.
- 151. Chrome stable: July 28. Octo Octium: July 30, 2 days. GoLogin Orbita build file: September 7, 41 days.
- 152. Chrome stable: August 25. Octo Octium: August 31, 6 days. GoLogin Orbita build file: September 30, 36 days.
- 153. Chrome stable: September 8. Octo Octium: September 10, 2 days. GoLogin Orbita build file: October 15, 37 days.
- 154. Chrome stable: September 22. Octo Octium: September 24, 2 days. GoLogin Orbita build file: not released.
- 155. Chrome stable: October 6. Octo Octium: October 8, 2 days. GoLogin Orbita build file: not released.
- 156. Chrome stable: October 20. Octo Octium: October 22, 2 days. GoLogin Orbita build file: not released.
The GoLogin dates are when each build file was last modified on its servers, not public announcements, so treat them as approximate.

GoLogin admits the gap. In its own comparison of 12 antidetects, updated October 7, 2026, it wrote that Orbita was "two versions behind stable Chrome 154" and that "Octo Browser and Dolphin Anty were already on 154."

What it means. Chrome now ships every 2 weeks. With Octo your profiles almost always claim the current Chrome; with GoLogin they usually claim a version 2 or 3 behind, and existing GoLogin profiles don't update by themselves. Octo says its fingerprints come from real devices with more than 50 configurable parameters; GoLogin says Orbita returns the profile's values instead of your device's. Neither publishes more about the method, and Fingerprint, a company that sells device identification to websites, names both among its examples of antidetect browsers.
Price: about 2 times apart
GoLogin costs about 50% less at every size. Octo prices in euros, GoLogin in your local currency with the same numbers, so in Europe GoLogin's $39 shows as 39 EUR. Monthly prices, with yearly billing in brackets:
- About 10. Octo Browser: 29 EUR for 10 (21 EUR). GoLogin: $9 for 10 ($4.50).
- 100. Octo Browser: 79 EUR (56 EUR). GoLogin: $39 ($19.50).
- About 300. Octo Browser: 169 EUR for 350, Team (119 EUR). GoLogin: $99 for 300 ($49.50).
- About 1,000. Octo Browser: 329 EUR for 1,200 (231 EUR). GoLogin: $179 for 1,000 ($89.50).
Teams cost more at Octo too. Lite, Starter and Base are owner-only; teams start on the Team plan, 169 EUR with 350 profiles and 3 members plus the owner, and each extra member costs 25 tokens, which Octo says equal 25 EUR. GoLogin puts members on Business, $99 with 300 profiles and 1 member, with extras at $10.
- 3 people on about 100 profiles: 169 EUR at Octo (Team), $109 at GoLogin (Business + 1 member).
- 5 people on about 300 profiles: 169 + 25 = 194 EUR at Octo, $99 + 3 × $10 = $129 at GoLogin.
Starting and leaving. Octo has no free plan, only a 2-day Starter trial with the code TRIAL. Its refund policy gives 5 days on the first payment only: a full refund if you haven't created any profiles, otherwise a partial one for the unused days, and renewals are never refunded. GoLogin has 3 free profiles forever, a 7-day trial with all features and a 7-day money-back guarantee on new subscriptions. Octo takes 30% off for a year paid up front, GoLogin 50%.
API, automation and teams
GoLogin's API is far more generous at the low end. It starts on Professional at $9 with 300 requests a minute and goes up to 1,200, with SDKs for Node.js and Python, a cloud browser and an MCP server. Octo's API starts on Base at 79 EUR with 50 requests a minute and 500 an hour, 100 on Team and 200 on Advanced. Octo's API does cover profiles, proxies, tags, teams, one-time profiles and launching Playwright, Puppeteer and Selenium over CDP.
Neither has a no-code builder. GoLogin has Run with Sync, which mirrors your actions across several profiles, and Cookie Bot for warm-up. We found no synchronizer or MCP support in Octo's docs.
Team control is Octo's strength. It sets access rights per folder, profile, template, tag and proxy, keeps an action log on every plan and offers an audit stream in the API. GoLogin has roles from "Can run" to "Workspace full access" and profile shares, but we didn't find a team action log in its docs.
Mobile and extras
Both have phone apps, but they work differently. Octo's iOS app, in the App Store since May 2026, and its Android app keep their own mobile profiles: desktop profiles stay on desktop. New users get 100 mobile profiles free during open testing. GoLogin's Android app runs Orbita on real phones and syncs with your desktop profiles, its iOS app came out in July 2026, and paid plans include Cloud Android, virtual Android phones with Google Play. Octo has no cloud phones. On desktop, both create profiles with Android fingerprints.
Proxies. GoLogin includes 2 GB of its residential proxy traffic in every paid plan. Octo sells residential and mobile proxies with UDP support in a built-in Proxy Shop.
Platforms and payment. Both run on Windows, macOS and Linux; GoLogin also has a web app and a cloud browser. Octo is paid in tokens, topped up by card or crypto; GoLogin takes card, PayPal or crypto.
Which one should you choose?
By situation:
- Expensive accounts where a ban costs more than the plan — Octo Browser. Chrome 156 2 days after release.
- Team with strict access control and audit — Octo Browser. Rights per folder and profile, action log on every plan.
- Solo, up to 100 profiles, tight budget — GoLogin. $39 against 79 EUR.
- Account farming from phones, profiles shared with desktop — GoLogin. Synced Android and iOS apps, Cloud Android.
- Scripts and API on a cheap plan — GoLogin. 300 requests a minute from $9.
- You want to try before paying — GoLogin. Free plan, 7-day trial and refund.
A middle path: keep the accounts that are most expensive to lose in Octo and run cheaper volume or phone-based accounts in GoLogin. If you do, check the Orbita version in each GoLogin profile and update old ones by hand.

Checklist: what to do
Questions and answers
Is Octo Browser or GoLogin better?
Octo Browser is better for expensive accounts and controlled teams: its kernel follows Chrome in about 2 days and it has detailed access rights and an action log on every plan. GoLogin is better on a budget and on phones: about 50% cheaper, with a free plan, synced phone apps and Cloud Android, but its engine ran about 5 weeks behind Chrome in 2026.
Which is cheaper, Octo Browser or GoLogin?
GoLogin. 100 profiles cost $39 a month against 79 EUR, and $19.50 against 56 EUR on yearly billing. For 3 people on about 100 profiles GoLogin costs $109 against 169 EUR at Octo.
Which has the newer Chrome kernel?
Octo Browser. It shipped Octium 156 on October 22, 2026, 2 days after Chrome 156. GoLogin's latest desktop build that day was Orbita 153, and GoLogin doesn't publish the version.
Can I get a refund from Octo Browser or GoLogin?
GoLogin promises a 7-day money-back guarantee for new subscriptions. Octo gives 5 days on the first payment: a full refund only if you haven't created any profiles, otherwise a partial one for the unused days. Renewals are not refunded.
Does Octo Browser have a free plan?
No. New users can try Starter for 2 days with the code TRIAL, and the phone apps give 100 free mobile profiles during open testing. GoLogin has 3 free profiles with no time limit.
Author’s conclusion
Octo Browser if your accounts are expensive and your team needs control; GoLogin if you're on a budget, start from zero or work from phones.
The gap between them is the engine and the price, and they move in opposite directions. Octo keeps Octium about 2 days behind Chrome, documents it, and gives teams fine rights and an audit trail, but charges about 2 times more, has no free plan and a tight API at 79 EUR. GoLogin costs about 50% less and is easier to try and to leave, with phone apps that share profiles with desktop, but its Orbita ran about 5 weeks behind Chrome this year.
My advice: if a banned account costs you more than a month of Octo, pay for Octo. If you're testing an offer, scaling cheap accounts or working from phones, start with GoLogin, and check the Orbita version before you put money behind any profile.
