Snapchat for Business is the advertising side of the Snapchat app. A campaign is built in Snapchat Ads Manager around an objective such as app installs, online sales, sales in a connected Shopify store, lead generation or awareness, and runs on the app's own surfaces. The figures the site publishes are 946 million monthly active users, half of them over 25, and more than 30 app opens a day per user.

The formats are Sponsored Snaps delivered into the Chat tab, single image or video ads, Story Ads, Collection Ads, Commercials and AR lenses and filters. Budgets are set per day or for the lifetime of a campaign and can be started and stopped at any time; the smallest daily spend is $5, while the platform recommends $20-50 a day so a campaign gets through the exploration phase its system uses to find responsive users, and new accounts are offered $75 in ad credit.

Targeting options, the Snap Pixel, measurement guides, a certification course, webinars and a partner hub for agencies and technology partners sit in the same account. Buying is self-serve after signup, and larger advertisers can request a meeting with the sales team instead.
