Trial
An offer where the customer gets the product for shipping cost or a token payment and is billed the full price, usually as a subscription, if they do not cancel. Big payouts, chargeback risk, mostly Tier-1 nutra.
Also called: free trial, trial offer.
The customer enters a card for a $4.95 shipping fee; two weeks later the card is charged $89 and every month after. The affiliate is paid when the trial is taken, or after the first rebill.
Trials are legal where the terms are clear and fraud where they are hidden. Payment networks police them, advertisers get shut down, and payouts are clawed back when chargebacks pile up. Know the terms before you promote one.
