Multi-accounting

Running many accounts on the same platform from one person or team, each made to look like a separate user. Agencies and media buyers do it for clients and campaigns; platforms limit it in their rules and look for links between accounts.

Also called: multiaccounting, multiple accounts, multi-account management.

In media buying it means separate ad accounts, profiles and payment setups for different clients, offers or tests, so that one ban doesn't take everything down. The usual toolkit is an antidetect browser, a proxy per profile and, for app-based accounts, cloud phones.

Platform rules are strict. Meta's terms say: "Create only one account (your own) and use it for personal purposes." Google Ads says "you can't create multiple Google Ads accounts after getting suspended to try to get around Google Ads' policies." Managing accounts for clients is everyday agency work; opening new accounts to get around a ban is what the rules forbid.

Platforms link accounts through more than the browser: payment methods, documents, domains, creatives and behavior. Check Point's October 2026 report recommends that detection teams cross-reference each account's device fingerprint over time.
