Mixed traffic
Traffic sold without targeting: all GEOs, devices and placements together, often the remnant a network could not sell otherwise. Cheap, unpredictable and mostly useful for smartlinks and testing.
Also called: mixtraffic, untargeted traffic, remnant traffic.
Some networks and sellers offer traffic as a bundle: whatever is left after targeted buyers took their share. It is priced low because nobody knows what is in it. A smartlink that picks an offer per visitor is the usual way to monetize it.
Buying mixed traffic for a specific offer is a way to burn a budget; buying it to learn which placements and GEOs convert, then targeting them, can work.
