About Microsoft Advertising
Microsoft Advertising sells search ads on Bing, Yahoo and Copilot results and native, display and video ads in the Microsoft Audience Network across MSN, Outlook and Edge. Bing held 5.29% of worldwide search in September 2026 according to Statcounter, far behind Google's 89.94%, but Microsoft reported 1 billion monthly active Bing users for the first time in the third quarter of its 2026 fiscal year, with search ad revenue up 12% year on year.
Campaigns run on CPC for search and on CPC or CPM in the Audience Network, including Performance Max, where Copilot placements appear. Accounts are funded by card or PayPal, and new advertisers can get spend-match promo credits; partner offers advertise up to $1,000 in credit for $250 of spend. The audience skews older (35 to 64) and higher-income, and the desktop share is far higher than on Google.
For affiliates the policies matter more than the price. Pages that only list links to other retailers without added value are disapproved, cloaking and landing page swaps after approval get accounts suspended, and landing pages are expected to show contact details, a privacy policy and an affiliate disclosure. Since May 2026 licensed crypto exchanges may advertise in the Audience Network, but crypto affiliates remain prohibited; gambling is a restricted category that needs pre-approval.
