Rotating proxy
A proxy that changes its exit IP automatically, on every request or on a timer. The opposite is a sticky session, which keeps the same IP for a set time. Rotation suits scraping; logged-in accounts usually need a sticky IP.
Also called: rotating residential proxy, backconnect proxy, IP rotation.
Proxy sellers usually offer both modes on the same pool of IPs. NodeMaven, for example, offers rotation on every request and a default sticky mode that holds an IP for up to 24 hours.
Logged-in accounts normally stay on 1 IP, so a session whose IP changes every few minutes doesn't look like a normal user. Rotation also breaks WebRTC replacement in antidetects that fix the WebRTC address at launch: Hidemyacc recommends switching WebRTC to Disable with rotating proxies, while Multilogin's Masked mode and Linken Sphere's Live mode update the address when the IP changes.
If you need rotation for accounts, rotate between sessions, not during them, and check the profile's WebRTC address and time zone after each change.
