Residential proxy

A proxy that sends traffic through IP addresses internet providers assign to homes, so sites see an ordinary household connection instead of a data center. It is the usual choice for ad accounts and antidetect profiles.

Also called: resi proxy, residential IP.

Sites and anti-fraud systems score IPs by type and history. Data center ranges are easy to recognize, while residential IPs come from the same providers real users have. Mobile proxies use addresses of mobile carriers instead.

Not every residential IP is clean. Fingerprint, a device identification company, raises its time zone mismatch flag when "at least 50% of requests from the same IP in the last 7 days" show a mismatch, so an IP that others misused brings that history into your profile. Some sellers screen IPs before handing them out: NodeMaven, for example, checks residential and mobile IPs against fraud scores and blacklists first.

Match the IP's country with the profile's time zone and language, and keep 1 IP per profile for the accounts you care about.
