URL

The address of a page. In affiliate work every link carries meaning: the tracking link records the click, the offer link identifies the affiliate, and parameters in the URL pass the campaign, creative and placement along.

Also called: link, web address.

An affiliate link is a URL with your ID in it. A tracking link is a URL on your tracker's domain that redirects to the offer while recording the click. Parameters (after the question mark) carry the details: source, campaign, creative, placement, click ID.

Keep links short and on your own domain where a platform lets you; long, parameter-heavy links get cut off in push and messengers.
