Doorway page
A page built to rank in search for a set of queries and then send the visitor somewhere else, usually by redirect. A black-hat SEO tactic; search engines penalize it when they find it.
Also called: doorway, door.
A doorway is stuffed with keywords and thin content, gets indexed, and passes the searcher on to a landing page or offer that has nothing to do with the query. Networks of doorways were once a cheap source of traffic; today they are found and dropped quickly.
The term still comes up in affiliate SEO and in the history of a lot of grey-hat traffic.
