Glossary
Teaser network
An ad network built around teasers: small image-and-headline cards placed in widgets on publisher sites. Cheap clicks, loose moderation, strong in CIS and Tier-3; the ancestor of today's native networks.
Also called: teaser ads network.
Teaser networks were where curiosity marketing was born: shock pictures, celebrity secrets, miracle cures. Many still allow adult and nutra angles that native networks in Tier-1 do not.
They sell by click, by GEO and by category, with blacklists of placements as the main optimization. Traffic is real but the audience is older, cheaper and slower to convert.
