Lead
A visitor who did what the offer asks and can now be counted: left contact details, registered, made a deposit. What exactly counts as a lead is written in the offer's terms and decides when you get paid.
In lead-generation offers a lead is a form with a name and a phone number or email. In cash-on-delivery it is an order the call center still has to confirm. In iGaming it is a registration or a first deposit. The definition is part of the deal, and so is the validation: the network checks leads before paying.
Leads are counted in the tracker when the postback fires. Approved leads are the ones the advertiser accepted; the share of approved to total is the approval rate.
